The Work of God

Worship experiences are sometimes the most inspirational messages that students can hear. Applying the will of God to real people and real lives is more meaningful to some than reading scripture from the Old Testament and trying to understand how that affects us as Christians. It wasn't until I bumped into an old friend that I realized that God does work in mysterious ways.

As a child I had a friend who lived next door to me. She and I were inseparable until we reached high school. At that point we parted ways, made our own friends and slowly headed down two totally different paths. Years later I had heard she had dropped out of school, was involved in drugs and generally ruining her life.

Amazing Worship Experiences

I heard nothing for the next five years from her and then one day, I bumped into her at the shopping mall. I hardly recognized her. This girl had struggled with weight her entire life and she now stood before me, thin, beautiful and more radiant than I ever remembered. We quickly recapped what had gone on in our lives and it was then that I found out how God had changed her life.

She was studying youth ministry, engaged to a fellow Christian and happier than anyone I had ever met. She shared with me some of her worship experiences then, and she continues to do so now over email and letters. Her story inspired me and many others into putting our commitment to the Lord first.
