Lower Backache Relief

by Jenni Wiltz

Lower backache relief can be found in a healthy diet and lifestyle; however, if you experience lower backache even with these preventative measures, there are things you can do to put yourself on the road to recovery. I've suffered from lower backaches that are the result of improper stretching before a run, as well as from poor posture while sitting in front of a computer for multiple hours. In my case, lower backache relief came when I changed my stretching routine to include several lumbar stretches.

If your backaches are chronic, you should see your doctor to find out if you need a referral to a chiropractor. A chiropractor can manipulate your spine to give you relief, although the relief may be only temporary. A chiropractor will study the way your joints move to determine possible causes of your back pain, as well as check for any pinched nerves.

Methods of Lower Backache Relief

Often lower back pain is caused by an improper balance of nutrients within the body. An easy first step in determining whether this is the case you is to add a supplement to your diet and keep a log of how often you experience back pain after beginning the supplement. Studies prove that deficiencies in magnesium can lead to back pain, sleep disorders, and even restless leg syndrome.

If a supplement does not work for you, ibuprofen or analgesics can offer a temporary solution. Weak stomach muscles are also a partial cause of back pain, so exercising and strengthening those muscles can save you from a future of back pain. With these simple measures, you can end your struggles with back pain in a healthy, non-medicated way.
