Treatment For Lower Back Pain

by Jenni Wiltz

Treatment for lower back pain doesn't have to be an intimidating and scary process. Many people put off going to the doctor out of fear (myself included). But in situations that involve a lower backache, the relief is well worth the trip.

Before you visit your doctor to receive treatment for lower back pain, make a list of symptoms and what might have activated them. If you can help your doctor isolate what caused the pain, you can help him pinpoint what type of treatment will be best for you. Even details that might seem insignificant to you will be important to your doctor; for example, even something as seemingly minor as incorrect posture while sitting in front of a computer can lead to back pain.

Non-Surgical Treatment for Lower Back Pain

Staying healthy can be the first step in the battle against back pain. Institute a walking or jogging regiment with ten to fifteen minutes of lumbar stretches to adequately flex the muscles in your back. The stronger those muscles are, the less susceptible they will be to pain.

Another helpful idea is to begin taking a calcium magnesium supplement. Magnesium can help regulate the bodily functions that deliver oxygen to your cells. The more oxygen your muscle cells have, the longer they will be able to go without soreness, pain, or fatigue.
