Alpine Real Estate

by Patricia Tunstall

Alpine Real Estate Offers Acreage

Alpine real estate is ideal if you have the buying power to afford some land with your home. Here, within the 27 square miles of the unincorporated town, many homes come with at least half an acre of land. If you are looking for a single family residence, you'll have quite a few options.

Generally, East San Diego County homes are less expensive than the coastal areas of the county--La Jolla and Del Mar, for example. The region also presents a variety of home styles and prices that give you many choices. Then, too, the small towns that characterize East County are different from one another, so this adds to the range of selections.

Recreational Opportunities

Alpine real estate is located to provide fast, easy access to Lake Jennings, a good fishing lake where large Blue Catfish, mackerel, rainbow trout, and sunfish are plentiful. To the north is arguably San Diego County's most beautiful lake, Lake Cuyamaca. At 4,600 feet above sea level, this well-run lake offers free fishing classes, nature walks, bait and tackle shops, and facilities for boat launching.

Originally a stage stop, Alpine has always been noted for its superb climate. With a range of about 65-90 degrees, and little precipitation, Alpine CA homes offer a spectacular setting for individuals and families that value outdoor living. Although there are any number of recreational activities nearby, Alpine also is close to the many exciting attractions and beautiful beaches of San Diego.
