San Diego CA new home construction is keeping pace with mushrooming building throughout metropolitan regions of California. Given that San Diego County real estate is prime property, the demand for homes has spurred construction throughout the area. Density prevents much development within San Diego itself, but the more open countryside beyond the city limits is seeing both custom homes and tracts going up.

Although El Cajon is a large city, construction is proceeding outside the downtown area. Indeed, most of the inland towns that constitute East San Diego real estate have lots and land to build on. The popularity of the region continues to grow, and with increasing relocation comes the need for housing.

A Concentrated Region

Two factors encourage prospective home buyers to consider a San Diego CA new home in the inland valleys and foothills. Although the city of San Diego has the major attractions, such as Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, every town and city around the county has important entertainment from Farmers Markets to rodeos to parades and celebrations. Also, the county has a great highway and road system that allows residents of one area to reach San Diego or points in between in a short time.

For example, Interstate Highway 8 runs from San Diego into Arizona, and along its path lie El Cajon, La Mesa, and Alpine. Santee and Lakeside are just off the highway along a road that takes you north to Julian and also to points south. Drive time from downtown San Diego to Julian is about 90 minutes; Alpine, the farthest of the East County towns, is only 26 miles from downtown.
