San Diego County Real Estate
San Diego CA Real EstateSan Diego CA Real Estate Offers VarietySan Diego CA real estate rivals any region for its variety of housing styles, prices, and locations. Luxury homes can be found throughout the county, even in smaller towns and villages. Executive-style homes are increasingly popular, as they are elsewhere in Southern California. Still, long-time residents of San Diego CA homes love their more modest older homes, and mobile homes are ever-popular in most inland areas. Tract developments have been a traditional way for families and those on a budget to find affordable San Diego real estate in this relatively affluent region. Custom-built homes and tracts are both meeting the demand for San Diego CA real estate from those who want to live in this fabulous southern section of California. All This and Mexico, Too!Because San Diego County is adjacent to Mexico, the county has an intimate relationship with the border town of Tijuana and the nearby Mexican communities of Rosarito and Ensenada. San Diego is the major gateway to Baja California; drive time from downtown San Diego to Tijuana is about 30 minutes. Rosarito is only an hour away, and Ensenada around two hours. American visitors to Tijuana should be prepared for a radically different experience. The atmosphere in this border town couldn't be more of a contrast to orderly, well-maintained San Diego. You have several convenient options for transportation because of the close connection between the two cities. You can drive, but this is not the easiest way to get across the border. Drive to San Ysidro, park, and walk across the border. You can also take a trolley to the border at San Ysidro and walk across. Last but not least, you can hop on one of the many buses that run between San Diego and Tijuana. ![]() Get all California Real Estate articles via
