American visitors to Tijuana should be prepared for a radically different experience. The atmosphere in this border town couldn't be more of a contrast to orderly, well-maintained San Diego. You have several convenient options for transportation because of the close connection between the two cities. You can drive, but this is not the easiest way to get across the border. Drive to San Ysidro, park, and walk across the border. You can also take a trolley to the border at San Ysidro and walk across. Last but not least, you can hop on one of the many buses that run between San Diego and Tijuana.
