Camper Accessories

by James Lyons

As you head into the wilderness or along the coast or into an RV park, you may find the need for some camper accessories. There are accessories for every part of your motorhome or trailer-bathroom accessories, tire accessories, furnishing accessories, water accessories, and much more. Have a look around before you go and check online to see what items you might be forgetting.

Instabeds and other camper equipment are excellent accessories to consider when you decide to venture off into the wilderness. Sleeping bags, while convenient, typically are not the most comfortable things in the world especially if you are camped by a rocky river, like the Frio River in South Texas. A good inflatable bed stores easily and inflates easily, ensuring you and the rest of your camp a good night sleep.

Camper Accessories in Different RVs

In general, RVs fall into two different groups-those with an engine and those without an engine, the latter requiring a towing vehicle with the power to pull it. RVs that have an engine, the ones that people drive, are typically called "motorhomes," and the ones that have to be towed are usually called "trailers." However, many of the same RV appliance and camper accessories are transferable.

Most of the initial recreational vehicles were trailers and their inception closely followed the birth of the automobile. Vacationers wanted a viable option to choose from other than cabins, hotels, and motels. Over time, these trailers saved their owners money and time, even though they had to sacrifice a little luxury. The first line of recreational vehicles were not equipped with sewage systems and instabeds, so many of the camps provided toilets and showers.
