Leg Press Machines

by Jill Morrison

Leg press machines will help you to strengthen and tone your glutes, calves, hamstrings, and quads. You can choose from two types of machines and they are the vertical leg press and the angled leg press. Both machines are effective, but vertical leg presses are known to give a more intense strength training workout.

Options in Leg Press Machines

Vertical leg press machines are designed to be used while you are lying on your back. You will extend your feet straight up and push a foot plate with your feet to work leg muscles. Giant and BodySolid make excellent versions of the vertical leg press.

The Giant Vertical Leg Press has an angled back support, no-slip foot plate and a specially designed head cradle for greater safety during your workout. It can be used in a gym or in your home because it does not take up too much extra space. The BodySolid Powerline Vertical Leg Press is designed for accelerated training and features comfortable padding for full lumbar and neck support.

Angled leg press machines allow you to push a foot plate at an angle, rather than straight upward. The Giant Angled Leg Press has a new space saving design and one of the widest footplates available. Its brass brushing slide system allows for ultra smooth and quiet motions during your workout. This machine has all of the features of an expensive machine, without the high price.
