The Internet is a valuable tool in guiding you in the various options available. There is a wealth of information online that can educate you on all of the different ways to publish a book.

Finding Publishing Resources Online

Writer's organizations are great resources for publishing information. There are a number of different organizations that address the concerns of writers of all kinds. Some of these organizations are geared specifically towards a particular genre of writing such as science fiction or mystery, but the information they provide can be universally applicable.

Some publishing companies will also provide information about book publishing on their websites. A lot of this information is very objective, but you should be aware that they are still a capitalist company, and some of the information may be slanted to favor the services they have to offer and their particular business model. It's always a good idea to get your information from more than one resource.

Perhaps the best resources you can find on book publishing are other writers, preferably published writers. There are a number of writers' forums online where writers can converse with one another and offer tips and advice. These forums are great places to get your publishing questions answered, as well as to get recommendations for publishing companies. They may even be able to provide content help to polish your manuscript. These online writers' communities are valuable support systems for what can be a very lonely occupation.
