Crochet sweater patterns come in a huge variety. If you know anything about crochet, this is just what you'd expect. Crochet is perhaps the most versatile of all the crafts. There are crochet patterns for everything from dolls, to purses, to pants, to sweaters, to Christmas ornaments. You might learn to crochet in order to make a simple hat, then end up making intricate items like table cloths and hooded sweaters.

Crochet Sweater Patterns in Magazines

There are a good number of magazines dedicated to crochet, and most of them are full of crochet sweater patterns. You can either subscribe to these magazines, or look them up online. In fact, you can find a huge number of crochet sweater patterns for free on the Internet.

I think crafts people are so enthusiastic about what they do that they are often willing to share their secrets, rather than sell their secrets. This may explain why so many crochet patterns are available for free, or for very little money. Making items by hand is not about money. It's about a passion for quality, beauty, and creativity.

My favorite crochet sweaters are ponchos. I love the '70s style crocheted ponchos you see all over the Internet. I also love hooded sweaters. The delicacy and movement of crochet lends itself well to hoods. The sweaters retain their draped flow, despite the added weight of the hood.
