All the creative ideas in the world don't mean anything if you don't have the right scrapbook supplies. Now, this doesn't mean that you have to go out and buy every supply ever made. You can actually do many fun things for your scrapbooks with a few basic supplies. However, if you have the means to really build up your toolbox, you will find that you can get things done more quickly and efficiently than ever before.

Most die cuts and punches are not necessary scrapbook supplies. They are merely an easier way to go when you need shapes cut out of paper. They save you the hassle of either having to draw an object by hand or finding something to trace. You don't have to worry about cutting out all the intricate parts. Also, many die cuts come with designs. For instance, a die cut kit for birthdays contains pieces like a cake, party hats, gifts and candles.

Each of these will not be one solid color, but will be decorated like what they are. Making your own version of die cuts is quite time consuming. It begins to really eat into your time when you want to create more than one shape either for a border or for symmetry on your page. Having to continually cut and decorate the same shape can cause frustration and thus a lack of desire to continue working. Needless to say, die cuts are very helpful scrapbook supplies.

Nifty Scrapbook Supplies

There is a whole list of supplies that you don't need, but can be fun to work with and will add certain flair to your scrapbooks. I like to use glue dots for my photos. They are exactly what they sound like. They are about a quarter of an inch thick or a little smaller. When you put them on all four corners of your photos, your pictures stand off the page a bit. These supplies can all be found at online scrapbooking stores.
