Scrapbooking Albums

I find that choosing between the many scrapbooking albums is one of the most fun parts of scrapbooking. It means you are about to begin a project. All the pages are blank. They are there, waiting for you to make them beautiful and unique. You can't just get any scrapbook, either. You have to get the one that fits your project best. Something will stand out to you. If you can't find what you want in the store, try looking online. You'll come across a much bigger selection.

My first full scrapbook was for my senior year of high school. Looking back, I would not have chosen the album that I did, mainly because it didn't have top-loading page protectors. However, I did have enough sense to purchase an album that had a color the same as my school color. This is what I mean by getting scrapbooking albums that match your project. If you are doing a wedding album, you probably want to get one that is white and padded, or something along those lines.

Pages in Scrapbooking Albums

More and more albums are being equipped with top-loading sheet protector pages. This is my personal favorite. Most scrappers choose this style. First of all, the page protectors do exactly what they say they do. You won't have to worry about people's fingerprints getting all over your pages. You won't have to worry that someone might spill something on your pages and ruin them. In addition, if your adhesive begins to dry up over time, the protector will catch anything that falls.

Scrapbooking albums come in all sorts of sizes and colors. The most popular sizes are 12x12, 8x8, 8.5x11 and 6x8.5. The 12x12 and 8.5x11 are the most convenient. This is because the majority of decorative papers come in these sizes. If you get an album that is not the size of one of these two, you will be doing a lot of cropping. However, sometimes the smaller albums can be perfect for subjects where you don't have a lot of photos. Weekend getaways, a birthday party or a trip to the zoo are wonderful for small albums.
