If you are looking for resume examples with which to compare your own resume, there are many resources at your disposal. A quick trip to your local bookshop will unearth countless "how-to" books concerning the art of resume writing. These books are filled with plenty of positive and negative resume examples. If you search job sites or classified ads online, you can find any number of actual and sample resumes for your perusal.

Finding Quality Resume Examples

In this oversaturated universe of examples, how can you separate the wheat from the chaff? If you're going to model your resume after a template, after all, you want it to be a worthy example. The answer is to seek out a trusted source and make sure they know what they're talking about.

The best source, of course, is to ask a friend, family or coworker for their old resumes. If they succeeded at winning a job for themselves, then you know that they wrote a successful resume. Maybe you know someone who is already working in the industry into which you are trying to break. This would be an ideal person from whom to borrow an old resume in order to glean some tips.

If you are looking for an outside source for resume examples, it is of utmost importance that you find out what types of people composed the resumes. Where were the employees educated? How familiar are they with your industry? Are these actual resumes that have won people interviews at a firm? Be sure you are getting your information from a valid source, and you will have a more successful resume for yourself.
