Amsoil synthetic lubricants are known to be among the best, if not the best, in the business. Since 1973, when Amsoil first began operations, Amsoil has been at the forefront in quality and innovation of synthetic motor oil. A steady commitment to quality over the course of thirty years has solidified that reputation among the automotive and industrial communities.

In response to the oil crisis of the early 1970s, Amsoil began research into developing a petrol-free, synthetic motor oil. In 1973, it succeeded, introducing the first Amsoil synthetic lubricants to the world. This oil was created from a chemical process and had properties that were far superior to the petroleum-based oils that had come before it.

The Difference in Amsoil Synthetic Lubricants

Petroleum-based oils had many fundamental problems. Besides being made from a non-renewable resource that was under the control of oil-producing nations, which could and did take huge financial advantage of us, they were loaded with impurities. They also had an irregular molecular structure--molecules that were of different sizes and shapes--that caused tremendous wear and tear on engine parts.

Amsoil synthetic lubricants, on the other hand, have a perfect, uniform molecular structure, which moves like silk over engine parts. They also contain additives that promote longer life to the oil and further reduce contamination, corrosion, and oxidation. With a longer service life and a cleaner-burning composition, they're also a great improvement over the wasteful, environmentally-taxing lubricants of yesteryear.
