Tanabe is a Japanese company that specializes in the design and production of high performance aftermarket exhaust and suspension systems for European and Japanese cars. While not as well known as other Japanese manufacturers such as HKS, GReddy and A'PEXi, Tanabe produces equipment that is every bit as good as their competitors' stuff. The only downside of Tanabe products is that they're only available for certain Japanese and European car models.

What Sets Tanabe Apart?

Tanabe benefits from their smaller operations in that their size allows them to pay closer attention to the quality of their output. With their headquarters in Osaka, Japan and their manufacturing facilities in nearby Shiga, Tanabe prides itself on only bringing the highest quality products to market. A look inside their manufacturing process shows how they do it.

Many automotive high performance manufacturers inspect each and every piece of equipment they produce before it ships out. Tanabe, on the other hand, inspects each and every part before they are assembled. Once the final product is put together, they do another quality inspection to make sure the customer is getting the best possible product.

Tanabe's manufacturing process is also unique in that everything is done in-house. Many manufacturers outsource the production of certain components to other companies, but not Tanabe. Tanabe's quality-control is so good, in fact, that they actually produce a lot of parts (like springs) that are re-sold to other manufacturers and sold under their name.
