There can be some pretty heated debate about drivers, including Jeremy Mayfield. Those who love a particular driver like to show off their support. This can be done in a number of ways--clothing, posters, stationary, decals, and model cars. With model cars you are not only showing support for a driver in the present, but all of his past triumphs as well--collecting his cars throughout his career.

Some people like to go with a winner so they follow the career of someone like Jeff Gordon. Other people like dynasties so they're fans of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Others like to follow a driver from the very beginning so they can say, "I knew him when." Jeremy Mayfield is a driver that has stayed under the radar for a decent portion of his career, but collectible models are still available for Mayfield cars.

Mayfield's #19 Dodge has become a staple on the racing scene. A former Kentucky Motor Speedway Rookie of the Year, Mayfield had one of his best years in 2000, winning the Napa Auto Parts 500 and the Pocono 500. His fans often respect him, though, for the way he worked up to his position, having previously been a crew chief and a fabricator before joining the Winston Cup Series.

NASCAR History

NASCAR came into existence about a decade before Mayfield--the 1950s. In 1959, the first Daytona 500 was raced at the Daytona International Speedway. In 1960, the first nationally televised Daytona 500 was televised. Daytona is the single most important race--both for its prestige and for furthering the popularity of the sport. Mayfield cars representing Daytona races like the Bud Shoot Out are also available for fans of this charismatic driver.
