The new Volkswagen Beetle has become the hot car around town. You've seen them everywhere--suddenly small is in, with the new BMW mini and convertible taking up the fad. But the Beetle is the original, and the updated version has some features you may not be aware of.

The Volkswagen Beetle has a 2.0L engine with 115 HP. It's a four cylinder engine, and a five speed manual transmission with overdrive. In case you're wondering about pickup, the new Beetle has much more power than the classic Beetle, and is given high marks for acceleration.

Advantages of a Used Volkswagen Beetle

Reviews also note excellent steering response, and plenty of power. These new models come with features such as air conditioning, side air bags, cruise control, keyless entry and power mirrors, locks and windows. The Beetle is a great buy at a list price of around $15,000...but think of all the money you'll save if you purchase a late model used Volkswagen Beetle. You'll get all the advantages at thousands less in cost.

Your used Volkswagen Beetle is good for a sporty car around town, but it gets lower marks as a family car. It's just too petite for anything but a family with toddlers. But it's a money saver for the family that's just starting out, because it averages 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. Your used car dealers will be selling out of these quickly, so it's best to look for a used Beetle or any other used car online to get the best selection.
