Gps Fleet

A GPS fleet is a fleet of global positioning systems, generally installed on trucks. An employer will install these vehicle tracking devices to make sure that his employees are using the trucks properly, doing their work, and not wasting the companies money by doing things and going places that they shouldn't be.

I have quite a few friends in the construction and truck driving business and I believe that all of their employers use GPS fleet devices on the trucks. Just from listening to them talk about the real time vehicle tracking systems, I can tell that they really do work. None of them slack off at work anymore knowing that their boss could be watching them!

GPS for the Family Car?

GPS units are great for keeping track of trucks for an employer, but they're also great for use at home! You can get dashboard models that are put right on your dashboard with a nice color screen so you can easily read directions. My father has one of these, and he's said that he doesn't know how he got by without it.

The in-car GPS units are especially great for people who travel alone a lot. It's very difficult to read a map while driving, but it's very easy to glance over and read a large color screen and see exactly where you're going. In the coming years, I can see the prices for this technology will drop drastically, and I think GPS units will come standard on a lot more cars.
