Aluminum Dash Kit

Aluminum dash kits are a modern alternative to the popular wood dash kit. While some like the old-school look and feel of wood paneling in their cars, others prefer to make their cars sleek and modern. Aluminum dash kits do just that.

Aluminum Dash Kits and the Future

Aluminum is the color of modernity. Ever since the Art Deco movement of the 1920s, the silvery hue has symbolized electricity, movement, and forward motion. Picture the robot in "Metropolis." Picture any robot for that matter, from Robbie the Robot in "Forbidden Planet" and "Lost in Space" to R2D2 in all the "Star Wars" movies. They all have that aluminum-like shine.

The same look is used in modern architecture. Frank Gehry has designed free-form buildings with outlandish sculptural curves, all with that robot gleam. The material used at Gehry's Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain and at the Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, California isn't actually aluminum (it's titanium and other metals), but it looks like it. Robbie the Robot would be at home in Gehry's creations

To some, Gehry's Guggenheim Museum and Disney Hall look like tin-foil covered architectural accidents. These are the same people who prefer classical, columnar familiarity. To others, the buildings give a sense of promise of the new and of the possible. Aluminum dash kits can turn your car's interior into a cousin of the Gehry buildings and of movie robots. The Internet is a great place to find aluminum dash kits that will fit just about any type of vehicle.
