Fairfax County, Virginia lies just to the east of Washington, DC. Home to stately mansions, rolling hills, and gracious estates, Fairfax County is easily reached by limousine from any point in the greater Washington area. Whether you are traveling for business or for pleasure, hiring a limousine to take you is a smart idea.

Sightseeing in Fairfax by Limousine

Fairfax County is home to three historic homes: Mt. Vernon, home to George Washington and his family; Gunston Hall, home to George Mason, a gentleman farmer, statesman, and author of the document on which the Bill of Rights was based; and Woodlawn, home to George Washington's granddaughter, Nellie Custis. All three homes are open to the public and offer an interesting glimpse back in time.

Also worth visiting in Fairfax is the Manassas National Battlefield Park. Sometimes called "Bull Run," this battlefield was the scene of two important Confederate victories during the Civil War. It was here that General Thomas Jackson earned his nickname "Stonewall." Many lives, on both sides, were lost here. Today, the field stands deceptively empty. A visitor's center and audiovisual presentation offer exhibits to help visitors envision the struggle that when on here.

Business and Entertainment in Fairfax

Fairfax County is also an important business center. McLean, Tysons Corner, Fairfax, Chantilly, and Reston are all filled with office complexes and corporate headquarters. For the sake of convenience, you may want to take a limousine from Dulles International Airport, the nearest airfield. Tysons Corner also offers world-class shopping. Visit Tysons Corner Center or the Galleria for Bloomingdale's, Tiffany's, Nieman Marcus, Hecht's, and Saks Fifth Avenue. A limousine makes it so much easier to haul your purchases home.

Wolf Trap National Park, the performing arts venue, is located in Fairfax County. This multi-purpose center hosts concerts, ballet, and theater in an outside amphitheater during the summer months. Smaller, intimate performances are held inside the "Barns" during the winter. Wolf Trap also makes a lovely setting for a wedding reception.
