Washington, DC is a beautiful city in which to get married. Historic hotels, sweeping vistas, excellent restaurants, and classic limousines provide those details that make a wedding special. Hire a wedding planner or do it yourself. Pamper yourself with a day at the spa. Arrange your flowers at one of Washington's best floral design shops. There are plenty of fancy shops in which to shop for the perfect gown.

Where to Have Your Washington Area Wedding

Choose from a big hotel wedding (the Four Seasons, the Willard Hotel, or the Mayflower), a restaurant, or an elegant public hall (such as the National Museum of Women in the Arts). Have your wedding pictures taken in front of one of the many beautiful monuments in Washington, the Lincoln Memorial or the Jefferson Memorial, for instance. Just outside of Washington, in Maryland, choose a historic inn for your wedding reception or your rehearsal dinner. Across the Potomac River in Virginia, historic inns are also popular. Also charming for a wedding function are the Barns at Wolf Trap or the Mt. Vernon Inn, adjacent to George Washington's estate.

A limousine is an elegant way to arrive at your wedding in style. Limousine companies offer choices such as an understated executive sedan, a trendy Hummer H2 limousine, a classic Cadillac DeVille stretch limousine, or an eight-passenger Chrysler, complete with flat screen TV, surround sound stereo, and fiber-optic lighting.

A limousine is also a perfect way to start your honeymoon. Virginia's wine and horse country and Maryland's Chesapeake Bay are all full of charming bed and breakfast accommodations, romantic dinner spots, and beautiful vistas. Just one call to a limousine company is all it takes to make the arrangements--hotel, dinner and lunch reservations, and, of course, transportation.
