Custom choppers are all about looks, and the paint job is the final detail that determines whether or not your chopper is really going to stand out in a crowd. If you're a fan of the plain, pure look you might want to go for a solid color scheme for your tank. But if you want something special, you should definitely hire a chopper paint shop to do a custom job on your tank.

Possibilities for Custom Chopper Painting

People are always amazed to hear how expensive it can be to get your bike painted. A lot of Harley guys spend upwards of $10,000 just on the paint on their bikes. Motorcycle paint jobs are some of the most detailed and complex you'll see, far surpassing in terms of style and quality the stock paint jobs that they do at the factory.

The most complex chopper paint jobs usually involve a base coat with some type of airbrushed or painted design on top. This is then covered with a clear finishing coat. This type of paint job can be very expensive, since it requires the creativity and time of a true artist. If you don't have the budget for this kind of custom job, you'll want to at least consider some nice pinstriping.

Pinstriping usually goes on top of the original paint layer, which allows you to add it easily to your existing paint job. This means that you don't necessarily have to pay to have your entire tank stripped and repainted. And don't think that pinstriping is boring or simple--custom chopper shops will have some fantastic designs that can really spruce up the look of your bike.
