What kid hasn't dreamed of racing go-carts for a living? I remember when I was eight years old, I told my mother that I was going to be a professional go-cart driver when I grew up. In hindsight, that might not have been the most realistic career goal, but I have enjoyed countless hours of fun racing go-carts around the track for the last 20 years.

Lifetime Love of Go-Carts

It was at my eighth birthday party that I first fell in love with go-carts. The party was at the local go-cart track, and my friends and I got to spend a whole afternoon zipping around the track doing our own rendition of The Fast and the Furious. I have loved these fun little toys ever since, and now my children are old enough to begin to appreciate their daddy's addiction.

The best thing about go-carts is that they are fast and maneuverable. Many have powerful engines allowing for high speed fun. A good go-cart will also have sport suspension making for a smooth ride and a safe one too. They have safety features like head lights, turn signals, kill switches, hydraulic disc brakes on the front and rear, and sturdy frames to protect their drivers from accident and injury. With just a little advice and a quick lesson, even very young riders can safely enjoy the fun of go-cart racing.

The best thing about go-carts, regardless of your age, is that they make you feel young at heart. Even us old folks can remember what it feels like to be a kid again when you get behind the wheel of a go-cart. When my daughter turns eight next year, she's going to get a brand new go-cart of her very own, and I just might have to pick one up for myself while I'm at it.
