Travel TrailerWritten by Jill Morrison The travel trailer was the first RV to become extremely popular for vacationing. It is typically pulled by a car or truck. Trailers are available in many different lengths, widths and designs. Travel Trailer ChoicesThere are a few different travel trailer options to choose from. Standard trailers have been around the longest and are typically inexpensive when compared to the price of larger trailers and motor homes. The larger and more powerful of tow vehicle you have, the larger your trailer can be. A fifth wheel trailer is similar to a conventional trainer, but it has a raised forward section in the design. This section is made for a bi-level floor plan. Fifth wheel trailers are pulled behind trucks with a special hitch feature and are typically more stable than conventional trailers. A folding camping trailer, or pop up trailer, is another travel trailer option. These trailers are typically only used in the summertime when weather conditions are mild. They are the least expensive trailer that you can purchase because they are compact and can be folded for easy travel.
