Ford F-250 Super Duty diesel trucks are the kings of the half-ton capacity truck mountain. The new combination of the Power Stroke turbodiesel engine and Torqshift transmission has created a towing monster with a previously unheard-of smooth power delivery. GM's Duramax turbodiesel/Allison tranny combo anted up and now Ford has taken it to new levels of torque and refinement with the Power Stroke.

Diesel engines used to be just for tough guys on the worksite who needed the black smoke-belching beasts to do the job. All that has changed with the huge advancements made in diesel engine and transmission technology over the past few years. The electronically-controlled Torqshift transmission chooses all the right shift points and even offers a tow/pull setting that shifts at higher revs for towing uphill.

Ford F-250 Super Duty Diesel Stands Out

The broad-shouldered, square-jawed look of the Ford F-250 Super Duty diesel is very recognizable and commands respect on the road. Other brands use the same body shell as their half-ton standard pickups for their heavy duty models, but the Super Duty makes a bold statement. Ford also offers a King Ranch version of the Super Duty models that adds a pile of awesome, thick saddle-like leather to the already handsome interior.

The Ford F-250 Super Duty diesel trucks are the ultimate vehicles for accomplishing anything, whether you're at work or play. The best towing capabilities are found in the Power Stroke/Torqshift powertrain combination and it's all pulled together by the rugged Super Duty frame. Enjoy making everyone else feel a little weak when you're behind the wheel of your F-250.
