Wedding Gown Accessories

Wedding gown accessories vary according to the unique tastes of each bride. Every woman has a distinctive style and this should be reflected in the pieces she chooses to accessorize her wedding dress. These are not mere details, but rather, critical components of the overall bridal ensemble.

Many traditional brides follow the time honored custom of wearing "something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue." This makes it easy to choose earrings, gloves, and other accessories. A growing number of women, however, are breaking with tradition and using their accessories as a relatively safe way to make a statement about their styles and tastes.

Attention to Detail

The impact of an overall look resides in the details. Given this, it's easy to make a distinctive statement with something as simple as a pair of well chosen earrings. A pair of vintage, Art Deco drop earrings, for example, can be quite eye-catching without being distracting. Similarly, a pair of antique gloves can go a long way toward defining a bride's overall look.

Of course, while we're at it, let's not forget that some of the most important gown accessories are those you do not see. When shopping for the big day, don't forget to look for bras, corsets, and other undergarments that will have you looking your best as you walk down the aisle. As any woman knows, shopping for these delicate items is not always as easy as it seems, and you should be prepared to spend some time finding the specific pieces that work best with your gown.
