Maternity ClothesWritten by Serena Berger If you're pregnant, there is no reason why you have to wear sweats and baggy clothing for the next nine months. If you like to dress fashionably, you can continue to do so during your pregnancy. Many designers make casual clothing as well as business suits and formal attire for expectant mothers. There are also a few stores that specialize in maternity clothes. If you need something really formal to wear while you're expecting, you'll probably want or need to go to a maternity store, as highly specialized pieces like this are likely only to be offered there. One concern that many people face when it comes to purchasing maternity clothing is the financial investment required for such a short period of time. You will only need the clothing for a few months, and then it will sit in your closet, only to be taken out if you become pregnant again. There are some things that you can do, however, to reduce the financial burden of purchasing maternity clothing. If you will be working throughout your pregnancy, you will have to purchase business attire. Most employers understand, however, if you don't have as many maternity suits as you do normal suits, and no one will say, "She just wore that three days ago." Just a couple of suits with different blouses will definitely suffice. When you are just lounging around your home, you certainly don't need to spend a fortune on maternity clothing. If you have friends who were pregnant, you may be able to borrow clothing from them. You might also consider buying second-hand maternity clothing, which is usually in good condition and available at a large discount. Finding Clothes to Wear During Your PregnancyThere are many places where you can find maternity clothing. While there may be a few stores that specialize in maternity clothing in your area, you are likely to find a larger selection online or in catalogs. Also, you don't have to restrict yourself to maternity clothing, as you may find greater availability of larger sizes. While these garments will not fit as well, they may be more available and less costly than maternity clothes. Consignment is also a great option for buying maternity clothing, as well as for selling yours to make some money back on clothing that is still in good condition. If you don't have as much of a financial burden, you could also consider donating your maternity clothes to a charity or shelter, as there are many expectant mothers who need and would greatly appreciate the assistance.
