Natural insect repellents are a welcome alternative to commercial brands that contain dangerous artificial chemicals such as deet. These products may be effective at keeping bugs off of your body, but the side effects associated with their use are not fully understood or known, especially in children. Therefore, it just makes sense to use natural bath and body products that will keep bugs at bay without the potential harmful side effects.

You can choose natural insect repellents that contain healing oils known for thwarting the bugs that love to bite you. Repellents that contain citronella, lemon eucalyptus, lavender, and a blend of natural hydrosols and other pure ingredients are effective at keeping the bugs away from you. If you live in a climate where the mosquitoes are out in full force, it pays to protect yourself by using natural insect repellents.

Barbecuing, playing in the grass, or walking the dog, all become activities that are not fun when the bugs are biting like it's their last supper. Not only do many bugs leave painful marks on the skin from their bites, but also many carry diseases. For instance, a lot of attention has been given to the West Nile Virus carried by mosquitoes, which can prove deadly in some individuals. The only real protection is the use of insect repellents that actually work.

Protect Your Family with Natural Insect Repellents

Many parents unknowingly assume that using the harsh insect repellents found in grocery stores and pharmacies are the perfect solution to biting bugs. However, sometimes the ingredients found in these repellents can be just as harmful in children as the actual bug bites they aim to prevent. Therefore, it simply makes sense to use insect repellents that can effectively stop the bugs from biting without the harsh synthetic chemicals that can be harmful.
