Disney Costumes

Disney costumes are pretty much the gold standard when it comes to children's outfits for Halloween. From classics like Mickey and Minnie Mouse to characters from A Bug's Life, Monsters Inc. and Shrek, there are literally hundreds of licensed Disney costumes to consider. Start early, because it's going to take a while to get your kids to make up their minds!

Part of the reason there are so many Disney costumes to choose from is that there is such a long history of Disney movies and cartoons. And they stick around for decades. Alice in Wonderland predates Disney, of course, but when we think of Alice, we see her in her blue dress and apron, with long blond hair and white knee socks. Dumbo was created in 1941, but there is an adorable baby costume that has huge ears, a ruffled collar and a little clown hat and is instantly recognizable.

More recent movies such as Toy Story, Mulan, The Lion King and 101 Dalmations have their own costumes, as do classics like Peter Pan, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and Snow White. In fact, there is hardly a Disney movie that doesn't have licensed costume!

Disney Costumes for Adults

The appeal of Mickey Mouse et al isn't limited to kids. Grown-ups, too, can be the Sorcerer's Apprentice, Aladdin, Tinker Bell or Captain Hook, Cruella de Ville or a spotted pup. Halloween brings out the kid in all of us, so hearken back to the favorite Disney movie of your childhood.
