Clarks of England has been making shoes since 1825, so you can be sure that the designers at Clarks know a thing or two about making shoes. Many assume that Clarks started in London, when in fact the beginnings of this company were much less auspicious. First setting up shop in Minute Street, Somerset, the founders of Clarks gave birth to a company that today produces millions of shoes worldwide.

When considering the shoes made by Clarks of England, the key element to remember is comfort. Ease of wear is the common thread among the company's divergent lines of footwear products. Whether you're looking for something to wear to the office or around the house, it's likely that Clarks makes a shoe to fit your needs.

Clarks of England offers four distinct categories of shoes, named Casual, Dress Casual, Sandals and Original. It is this last category that many people rave about. A Clarks Original is sure to be a unique, comfortable shoe. One such shoe is called the Wallabee.

A wallaby, as you may know, is a kind of kangaroo. A Clarks Wallabee has little to do with Australian wildlife, yet it is a sight to see nonetheless. This moccasin-style shoe was created nearly 40 years ago by Lance Clark, and is considered one of the first widely distributed shoes to be designed primarily around comfort. Available as either a shoe or a boot, the Wallabee has become a modern classic of shoe manufacture.
