Bion, Inc. is the name of the company that manufactures the two very popular Bion flat irons. The first of these products is the Japanese Ceramic Digital Hair Straightener by Bion and the other is the Bion Fine Ceramic Digital Hair Straightener. Both of these flat irons are manufactured in Japan and are purported to be the prototypes for all other ceramic hair straighteners available for sale right now.

Japanese Ceramic Straightener

The Japanese Ceramic Digital Hair Straightener by Bion was the first flat iron to incorporate patented scratch resistant ceramic/tourmaline heating plates into its design. This hair straightener also comes with an adjustable temperature control that includes an easy-to-read digital display. Both of these features ensure that ionic heat is uniformly delivered to the hair, giving it a sleek and smooth look.

Bion Fine Ceramic

The Bion Fine Ceramic Digital Hair Straightener has a patented, easy to read LCD (liquid crystal display) temperature controller that governs the amount of heat delivered to its plates. The plates on this hair straightener are constructed out of a fine ceramic product. A fine ceramic, which is also commonly referred to as an Advanced Ceramic, is defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) as "a highly-engineered, high performance, predominantly nonmetallic, inorganic material having specific functional attributes."

When introduced to heat, fine ceramics emit infrared heat waves that have rather long wavelengths. The hair more readily absorbs this type of heat, thereby reducing the amount of damage to the hair. Plus the negatively charged ions generated by the ceramic plates smooth and straighten the hair by eliminating static electricity.
