Garter hose is the term used for a single unit of stocking legs, garter straps, and a waistband. All of these elements are offered together in a fixed attachment, as opposed to independent pieces. Garter hose are closely related to suspender hose. In fact, the two operate on the same principle. The difference is that suspender hose's visual design is more akin to that of pantyhose with the front and back cut out, while garter hose resemble the classic garter belt-and-stockings combination.

Garter hose provide an interesting change of pace from the normal routine of stockings, garter belt, and garters, as one is able to pull everything on at once. No fussing with garter clips or other details is needed. Another advantage of garter hose is that, if organization tends to be a problem for you, you will never have to go searching through your drawers for each of these articles.
