Underwire Bras

Underwire bras are a great choice for any woman who wants a little extra support and lift from her bra. Though not a terribly recent development, underwire bras are still fairly new phenomenon. And over the last decade, they have garnered quite a fan base.

The Pros and Cons of Underwire Bras

The reason most women like underwire bras is for the support they offer. The wire that's inserted at the base of the cup line provides far more support than a slip of fabric ever could. All too often women with larger bust lines find that regular bras simple sag under the weight of their breasts; underwire bras, on the other hand, can withstand the weight.

Yet another reason to consider buying underwire bras is for the lift they can give. It's hard to push up one's breasts with nothing more than fabric, no matter how strong and sturdy the fabric may be. When you use a wire to mold and lift the breasts, you get far more dramatic results.

Though underwire bras are great at providing both lift and support, some women find them uncomfortable. A poorly made or ill-fitting underwire bra can poke and prod you in all the wrong places. If you do decide to get an underwire bra, don't skimp; spend a little extra money and time finding a bra that's going to be comfortable.
