There are embroidered patches for any type of club, organization, or group meeting that you can imagine. This is a symbol of recognition for people with the same interests and activities. There are patches and emblems embroidered for placement on all types of clothing. Some of the patches are placed on the front and center of caps. Other patches are placed on the lapel or the back of jackets.

Some of the better-known embroidered patches are on military uniforms and city departments such as the police and fire departments. These patches have identifying information to indicate the status of the person such as Lieutenant, Staff Sergeant, or any other rank. It also includes some type of identification to designate the location, such as the city or battalion. It will show the appropriate logo for the branch of service.

Patches are also used to advertise the logo of a business. Placing the patch on uniforms often does this. Some companies have sweatshirts that employees wear as casual attire and this puts the name of the company out into the public venue. It is also very common for places of business such as a golf course or other outdoor activity to sell hats or caps with the company logo embroidered on it.

In addition to these, many civic and social organizations have embroidered patches for various levels of achievement. Examples of these are the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. There are many patches that these groups offer the members as they accomplish certain levels of activity. These patches are designed for placement in a particular place on the uniform as they progress through the phases of each program. Some are placed on vests and others are placed on the shoulder or sleeve.

Many companies will create any kind of patch. Providing a sketch and full description of the design is all you need to do for most of these companies. Families will sometimes have the family crest or logo put on a patch that can be sewn onto a cap or jacket. This is more popular in some places than others. In some countries, it is very important to wear the family crest.

Embroidered patches are a great way to advertise special events. Large companies sometimes have competitive events as part of an employee social affair. Caps, tote bags, or other types of prizes are often given away with the company logo neatly embroidered in an obvious place. This makes great advertising for the company and gives the employee a nice gift.
