Anti Wrinkle Eye Creams

If you're concerned about eye wrinkles and want to fight them with moisturizing treatments, then you must invest in a cream specifically formulated for treating the delicate eye area. The skin around the eye is different than that of the face. Regular facial moisturizers simply will not work.

Eye Skin Is Different

The pores of the skin around the eyes are much, much smaller than those on the rest of the face. Regular facial moisturizers will simply sit on top of eye skin, and be evaporated by air. You could apply facial moisturizers twenty times in a day to eye skin. Not one bit of it would be absorbed.

When searching for the right eye cream, look for those which have been ophthalmologically tested. Search, too, to see if you can find one with an SPF, which is especially important for delicate eye skin. Excellent botanical ingredients might include cucumber (to reduce swelling) and antioxidants.

When applying eye creams, be gentle. Eye skin is highly vulnerable to tugging and pulling. Most skin care experts agree that applying eye creams with your middle or ring finger is best, using only a gentle tapping or pressing onto the skin. Although it's difficult, try not to rub or pull eye skin. This is another reason that moist eye-makeup removers should always be used--they loosen eye makeup without the need for rubbing or overzealous tugging. Similarly, avoid using over the counter facial exfoliants in the eye area, as most of these products are too harsh for this tender skin.
