Male liposuction is not nearly as popular as for females, but it is growing. The most common procedure that is requested by men is to get rid of the love handles. This is the common term used for the fat that collects around the waist line. It is usually impossible to get rid of regardless of diet or exercise. Once it is collected, it seems to take up permanent residence.

Male liposuction that is done using the latest tumescent technique can easily be done as an outpatient procedure. Depending on how the office is equipped, it is possible for some physicians to do the procedure in the office. There is no need for general anesthesia and recovery time is minimal. Usually after three days, normal duties can be resumed. Be sure to follow the guidelines given by your doctor. Each case is different depending on the extent of the procedure and the condition of the body.

Male Liposuction Is Gaining Popularity

Male liposuction is also done to remove fat deposits that are located in the abdominal area. This is the area that is commonly called a "beer belly." The results are great and the recovery is minimal when the tumescent technique is used. If not, the recovery will take a few more days due to the need for some type of anesthesia.

No amount of liposuction will take the place of eating right and getting enough exercise. This is just a means of removing the excess that will not respond to exercise and diet. Once the fat deposits are removed, they will not return. However, it is still possible to gain weight and more fat deposits as the existing fat cells can enlarge to accommodate the lifestyle. For the best results, live a healthy lifestyle.
