Skin Care Products

It's no surprise that there are so many different types of skin care products on the market today, since skin care is a concern for so many adults. Only babies and young children are blessed with clear, dewy, beautiful skin, it would seem. The rest of us suffer from a panoply of skin conditions, including acne, discoloration, crow's feet, wrinkles, and sun damage.

Acne is the first skin condition most people develop during their lives. Therefore, the first skin care products that most of us buy are acne products. Although most teenagers experience at least some form of acne, the severity differs from person to person. For some high school students, acne is merely an occasional inconvenience or embarrassment. For others, it is a debilitating, even scarring condition.

Adult acne is a concern for a surprising number of American adults today. Stress, heredity, and environmental conditions combine to create embarrassing acne, even for adults in their 40s and 50s. It seems terribly unfair that a person should have to put up with wrinkles and pimples at the same time! Therefore, skin care products which treat adult acne are among the most popular available today.

Ideal Skin Care Products

Ideally, skin care products should combine science and nature for maximum effect. Herbs and other natural supplements have been gaining a great deal of popularity in recent years, for good reason. Herbs, plant extracts, and other natural ingredients can go a long way toward soothing, moisturizing and protecting the skin.

However, synthetic skin care products created in scientific laboratories also offer many benefits for the skin. These synthetically developed products can help protect the skin from free radicals, sun damage, and dehydration. In my opinion, the best skin care products are those which harness the power of both natural botanicals, and man-made solutions.

Chances are you won't find the best skin products in your local drugstore. If you want to buy a plain old bottle of body lotion, the drugstore is fine. On the other hand, if you are concerned about wrinkles, puffiness, discoloration, or adult acne, you're going to want to look beyond your local drugstore.

Skin Care Products Online

I have found that the best skin care treatments are available in one of two places. They are either prescribed by a dermatologist, or sold over the Internet. Because value is important to me, I try to buy skin products that are as powerful as one can possibly find without a prescription. The easiest place to find these powerful, non-prescription lotions and treatments is online.

Look for a company that is spearheaded by a dermatologist, rather than a marketing department. If a company wastes its money advertising with models and gimmicks, I don't trust it. I would rather buy simple, powerful, scientifically proven treatments from a company that puts science and skin care first. Of course, a money back guarantee is always a plus, particularly when making a purchase online.
