If you want younger looking skin, it's important to make home skin care part of your daily life. You will be delighted you took the time. The fountain of youth cannot be found in a bottle, it's in the proper skin care. Nobody can stop the aging process, but you can slow it down. The proper cleansing, nourishing, hydrating, and exfoliating are vital for preserving healthy and younger looking skin.

Skin is composed of several layers. The very top epidermal layer is quite hard-hitting and, although microscopically thin, is our protective hide. It is constantly being worn down and replaced. It plays an essential part in inhibiting extreme loss of moisture from the body, and helps to give healthy skin its attractive appearance. The deeper layers contain all the structures that give skin its strength and elasticity. If you treat your skin well, by keeping clean skin, you can help prolong your youthful look.

Younger Looking Skin Starts with a Clean Face

Your mother always told you to wash your hands, but did she show you how to wash your face? Use a liquid, cream or foam cleanser, and gently massage your face to remove all the make-up and dirt. Then rinse you face. After cleansing saturate a cotton pad, and wipe it all over your neck and face, this will work to close your pores and also remove the last traces of cleanser. Apply your moisturizer with upward motions to both the neck and face.

Cleansing, toning, and moisturizing the skin is important to proper skin care and will give you a youthful complexion. But there is one more vital process that you must incorporate into your face cleaning routine. At least once a week you must exfoliate. Exfoliating will slough off the dead skin cells, leaving you with glowing and seemingly youthful skin. Take this advice and you will be well on your way to healthy, radiant, younger looking skin.
