Orange Soaps

Orange soaps are very clean and bright smelling, perfect for a morning shower. Strong, vibrant scents can help to awaken your senses on those groggy, early mornings. I particularly like orange soaps when they have been cut with a spice, like cinnamon or cloves. The citrus gives orange soaps their light, sunny side, and the spice balances this scent out with a hint of a darker, more exotic fragrance.

Orange Soaps and Other Fruit Soaps

Fruit has long been an ingredient in fine, all natural soaps. One of my very favorite treats is lathering up with blueberry soaps! Blueberries, melons, oranges, and other fruits all make classic, sweet smelling soaps. Their universal appeal makes them a good choice for gift soaps.

Flowers are often used to make handmade soaps, as well. Lavender soaps are quite popular, especially in somewhat formal bathrooms. Lavender soap is the ideal choice for your guest bathroom or the powder room on your main floor. Rose soaps are also very popular, but can be considered too cloying or heavy for some.

Spices, beans, and other edibles are also great additions to soaps. Buy handmade soaps made from vanilla beans for a warm, cozy fragrance. Sandalwood and patchouli are more exotic spices, and perennial favorites of soap makers. If you love scent as much as I do, I suggest you buy a large quantity of fun, handmade soaps in different scents, and give them all a try!
