Sensitive skin care products can bring relief to dry, itchy or irritated skin. If you suffer from eczema or psoriasis, then sensitive skin care products are a must. However, you may want to use these gentle, effective, and moisturizing products even if your skin suffers from nothing more than ordinary dryness.

Sensitive Skin Care Products for Itchy Skin

Itchy skin can drive you nuts. Not only is it uncomfortable, it's also embarrassing. You don't want to be known as the guy in the office who's always scratching himself like a monkey. If you suffer from dry, itchy skin, the first thing you need to do is to stop using ordinary, mass-produced soap.

Buy handmade soaps instead, and you are likely to experience significant relief. Why? Ordinary soaps usually include detergents, which is a no-no for sensitive skin. Also, many ordinary soaps remove the glycerin which is a natural by-product of saponification (soap making).

Since glycerin, a thick, sweet, clear liquid, helps keep skin soft and moist, you do not want it removed from your soap. All natural soaps that have been handmade will not contain any detergents. They will, however, contain beneficial glycerin. Shower in warm (not hot or cold) water, using an all natural soap. Follow your shower with a good body lotion. Use lotions, creams, or other sensitive skin care products which are hypo-allergenic, simple, and natural.
