If done right, school fundraising can be a lot of fun. If you have a group of students who get along and believe in their causes, you will have a good time. Sometimes it will be the teachers selling things like t-shirts to the students in order to raise money for school events like prom or homecoming. Whatever the reason, find a fundraiser that everyone can agree upon.

Ideas for School Fundraising

The two most common fundraisers are selling candy bars and doing car washes. With candy bars, you can sell to other students as long as you get permission from the teachers. Car washes are always fun. Just make sure you pick a hot sunny day or your fundraiser could go bust. If you don't feel like putting in the labor that is required of car washing, you might want to consider selling t-shirts for your school fundraising.

You can sell to students, teachers, parents or even the community. It all depends on how much money you need. If you are fundraising for the football team and you need new shoulder pads and helmets, consider selling to all of the above groups. Many people will want to support the sports teams of the local high schools. In addition, it's a way for people to show their allegiance to one team over the others.

When you are doing school fundraising with t-shirts, there are two options you will want to consider. Do you want to order a whole bunch of shirts and then sell them, or do you want to take individual orders? If you are selling to the community, people will be more likely to buy when they know they are definitely getting a shirt that fits. It's a good idea to have the shirts ready and available, or at least to have a few samples to try on for sizing.
