Whoever said one-piece bathing suits were for old people never saw a one-piece thong swimsuit. These suits are far from old-fashioned and may even be the beginning of a new trend. While there are a lot of sexy one-pieces that sport a thong or G-string, the most popular are probably the tank body suit style and the tank cutout style. These suits offer a little more coverage, but they are not even remotely demure.

Types of One-Piece Thong Bathing Suits

The tank body suit has been around for a long time and was very popular in the 1980s. From the front it resembles a traditional one-piece tank suit, however, these days it is usually cut much lower at the bust and much higher at the hip. This shape does wonders to accentuate a woman's body. The back is also typically cut very low and there is a high G-string. The result is a swimsuit that at first glance appears modest, but reveals itself to be quite sexy indeed.

Cutout one-pieces often also come in a tank top or spaghetti strap. Unlike the body suit style, there are strategic pieces cut out of these suits to reveal more skin. The pieces may be on the side, the back or across the stomach. While still technically a one-piece because of the connecting fabric, these suits can look more like bikinis.

You may wonder why someone would want a one-piece that looks like a two-piece when they could just buy the two-piece. Well, there are a couple reasons. For one, these suits are far more unique than the two-piece suits that now dominate the scene. For two, these suits stay put easier than two-pieces so you don't have to worry about a "wardrobe malfunction."
