Implementing Corporate Wellness Programs

Even if you are a small business or don't have a large budget to work with, there are things you can do to improve your corporate wellness. Some companies offer reduced membership fees at fitness centers or gyms. Others allow flex-time so workers can exercise during the day and make up the time earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon.

You could also encourage corporate wellness by bringing in speakers to educate your employees about health issues. Or, conduct screenings for various illnesses at your work site. Some companies reimburse their employees for preventive testing. Because many diseases are linked to lifestyle, encouraging your employees to make better behavioral choices is also a way to reduce health care costs.

Wellness programs are considered the new "benefit" by many employees. Job candidates even look for these programs as part of their compensation packages. So not only will it affect your bottom line and improve morale, implementing a wellness program at your company can also make it an attractive place to work.
