Do you want to learn better time management? Setting aside some time each evening before you leave the office to plan for the next day is an investment that will pay you back many times over. Not only will you be more organized, but you will also increase your productivity and decrease the amount of stress you take home each day.

Three Steps to Time Management

For better time management, start with a to do list of everything you have to do the next day. It sounds simple, but it really works. Once you see what needs to be done, you can schedule it more effectively and achieve more. Then write down the actions you will need to take in order to get them done, be as detailed as you need.

Next, review your to do list and ask yourself if these items are the best way to use your time. Perhaps there are more efficient ways of completing your tasks. Make changes as needed.

Finally, prioritize your to do list. Number your tasks in order of importance. The next day, start with the most important tasks. You'll have them out of the way early in the day, leaving you with more time to do the less important tasks, and to plan for your time management for the following day.
