Home Based Businesses

For most people, home based businesses are designed to be "plan B" businesses. As I alluded to in another section, I started a home based business to help get some time back and help me get more control over my life. Having a company fire you or lay you off can be one of the most devastating things a person can go through, especially if that person has enormous responsibilities like kids and a mortgage.

In traditional business, the owner or the CEO has all the power. Ultimately, they decide your fate. You slave day after day building their dream and their bank accounts. Employees usually make enough to get by while owners usually make enough to retire their family trees. Why work to build their businesses when you can build your own without assuming much risk.

Home Based Businesses Redistribute Power

People work harder for themselves than they do for a boss. This is a fact. I don't deal with supervisors or bosses anymore. When I did, I typically worked just hard enough to keep my job. I refused to put in additional effort because I was rarely rewarded for it. If I was rewarded, the compensation was nominal and further fed my contempt for corporate America.

Instead of complaining about it, I decided to take action, align myself with a reputable company, and start generating another source of income. I sifted through countless home based businesses and finally identified a couple worth fully scrutinizing. I did my research and eventually partnered up with a great company. The other day I sat a boss down and fired him from my life. Home based businesses give you the freedom to terminate a boss.
