It used to be that when it came to time clocks there were only a couple of choices. Time clocks were essentially glorified clocks that had an integrated stamping mechanism. That's not the situation that exists today though, as there are a number of different types of time clock systems available to employers.

You can still buy the old-fashioned type of time clock, and this style of time clock still makes sense for some types of businesses. If you don't have that many employees and your payroll is a fairly straightforward and simple affair, a classic style time clock might be your best option. For larger companies though, there are a plethora of different time clock styles.

Some of the most interesting new time clocks that are available are the PC based models. These type of time clocks feature an interface with a PC based computer, and they can help you streamline a number of payroll duties into a few simple computer functions. A PC based time clock can really help save you and your company time and money.

Time Clocks on the Go

If your company doesn't have ready access to a computer, there are still options available to you. Even if you work in an area where there are no outlets, there are some great battery-operated time clocks that can allow your employees to clock in no matter where they might be. This is a great option for companies whose employees work in an ever-changing series of locations.
