Epson Compatible Inkjet Cartridges

Epson compatible inkjet cartridges can save consumers a lot of money. For this reason, online companies that offer discounted brand-name supplies and generic equivalents have made an inroad into the market for printer supplies. By providing quality products at steep markdowns, these companies offer economical alternatives for consumers.

Consumables, such as ink cartridges and paper, cost far more than the original printer. When an inkjet printer is $80 and the cartridge is $50, it doesn't take much printing before the consumer realizes that replacement cartridges will be a major expense. When it's possible to get equivalent performance and save money at the same time, a printer owner would be wise to consider Epson compatible inkjet cartridges.

What Are Compatibles?

Compatibles, also known as generics, are inkjet printer cartridges that are made by a manufacturer other than the brand-name manufacturer. Compatibles are not refurbished or remanufactured; they are new, and meet the specifications of the brand-name cartridge. Quality varies, however, so make sure the online company you do business with carries products that have an ISO certification.

Compatibles are not available for Hewlett-Packard (HP) and Lexmark. These brands, and remanufactured cartridges, combine the printer head and the cartridges to make one unit. Because a generic cartridge is only an ink tank with no printer head, they cannot be produced for HP and Lexmark.
