One is that there is inter-operation in fields utilized in text data mining: corpus-based computational linguistics. For the sake of unearthing functional patterns within large text collections, empirical computational linguistics serves a clear advantage. The patterns are the building blocks for algorithms employed in organic language dispensation. This can in turn be used to address multiple sub-quandaries. These problems can include speech intelligence disambiguation, tagging, and translation dictionary development. For computational linguists, it is significant which words tend to appear together and in what context. However, valued intelligence in computational linguistics in terms of these patterns do not always coincide with what is valued by the business community in general. This is primarily what distinguishes data mining in the context of computational linguistics. Automation FrameworkThe move towards automatic augmentation in computational linguistics is best viewed with a focus on current lexical structures. In this regard, the ore-extraction metaphor is best suited when applied to data mining. Associating lexico-syntactic patterns that illuminate relationships without ambiguous indications best facilitate sub-categorization of data using automated processes. Excitement, however, is contained by the fact that this only addresses the specific needs of the computational linguist and relevance tends to escape the broader viewers. The roots of computational linguistics lie in the machine translation research of the 1950s and 1960s. Results were limited by small samples of language and miniature models. This delivered interesting insights into the theoretical aspects of computational linguistics. It is hoped that the professional associations will play a significant role in the growth and future potential of computational linguistics.
