Order Personal Checks

Despite the fact that most people use credit and debit cards in place of checks, some bills are just easier to pay with checks. Rent, car payments, and gifts to the kids are all much easier with checks than with any other form of payment. So we still need our checks. As we write those checks, we deplete our stock. At some point we run out of checks and need to replenish the supply. At that point one has to make a decision: where do I reorder my checks?

Where to Order Checks

The traditional method of ordering checks is to place an order through the bank. Many banks allow their customers to place this order through a website. Some banks require telephone orders. No matter how one places the order, it generally does not arrive for several business days, and the purchaser almost certainly does not get the option of ordering a personalized check design.

Another option is to order checks through a third-party check printing service. These services accept orders through phone or mail, with most of them accepting orders online as well. Third-party services are generally quite easy to use, despite the fact that they don't have access to your personal bank records. All they ask for are a few key pieces of information that are easy to locate on existing checks or deposit slips.

Third-party services generally allow their customers to pick from hundreds of personalized options. Customers can order checks that feature pictures of cars, animals, or pop stars. They can order checkbook covers that match their checks or that have completely unique designs of their own.
