Perfect Bound Books

Perfect bound books are among the most attractive and professional booklets and catalogs. Perfect binding is an alternative to the saddle stitching process in which the pages of a brochure are folded and stapled along the spine. It requires skill and special machinery, but is well worth the investment if you seek to produce a quality brochure.

The problem with saddle stitching is that it only works up to a certain point. If you get too many pages in a brochure, stapling just isn't feasible. This is where perfect binding comes in. With the right equipment, it is possible to use glue along the spine of the book in a manner that is still attractive and professional.

Assembling Perfect Bound Books
During this binding process, signatures are stacked together and their spines are torn. This makes it possible to glue the document and then heat seal it. The final stages involve the application of a cover and the trimming of the final document.

The multi-step nature of this process suggests that it is not something to be handed over to amateurs. If your company brochure is beginning to look more like a tome, consider editing superfluous information. If this is not an option, consider consulting a reputable printer for help with producing perfect bound books.
